Sometimes, Kamui just didn't feel like school -didn't see the point of going at all. After all, he was beyond the age of required schooling, and with everything else going on, sometimes it was just like... really? Really? The world was ending, he was failing in his duties, and instead of focusing purely on that, he was stuck in homeroom, musing on how he'd "conveniently forgotten" his math homework. Sometimes that just seemed a little stupid and pointless.
Sure, yeah, he got the whole "social interaction" thing (which -Keiichi aside- he more or less avoided regardless), and he even fully understood that he needed some sense of normality. But... still...
He sighed and pressed his forehead to his desk as the teacher entered the classroom, wondering how much trouble he would get into if he just slept away his classes for the day. The urge was quite tempting. Maybe he could even get off the hook by blaming it on his still-healing wounds and the residual effects of pain killers. Maybe?
Suddenly, however, all thoughts of sleep flew away as he snapped to attention, only vaguely hearing the teacher say something about a new transfer student. The oddness of it was what caught his classmates' interests -since the last kekkai fell, people had been transferring out of Tokyo and not in- but what caught Kamui's was the strange power he could feel in the boy. Sure, CLAMP School was no stranger to people with powers, but... this felt unique. Interesting.
Quiet, Kamui tilted his head slightly and watched the new student, eying him with poorly hidden curiosity.

He bowed and offered a thank you before being shown towards his seat near the back of the class next to a boy with black hair.
Yuki stopped before sitting and gave an awkward smile.
"You don't mind if I sit here do you?"
no subject
"Ah..." Kamui only snapped to when the other spoke, eyes still huge as he blushed slightly and mentally flailed. "Sorry, no, I..." He looked to the other's desk as if it could somehow magically make him feel less awkward. "I-I don't mind at all."
no subject
"Thanks....."
It was said just as awkwardly as Kamui probably felt.

The least... the least he could do was introduce himself, though. Maybe try to get closer so that he could learn more, even if forging friendships wasn't really... his forte. At all. Ever. In fact, this was likely to be a first for him.
"Ah, I..." he turned back to the other, blushing lightly again, hands fidgeting nervously. "I'm Shirou Kamui, by the way..." His head turned downward, long bangs hiding most of his face. "N-Nice to meet you..." There. That wasn't so bad, was it?
no subject
"It's nice to meet you too."
He kept his voice quite though so not to disturb the class.

But... there was always lunch, right? He could talk to him during lunch. Well, if Keiichi didn't pounce him, he could at least. Maybe if he was quick enough...
As soon as the lunch bell rang, Kamui turned to Yuki, taking a deep breath before... "A-Ah... would you, um, like... to have lunch with me?"
no subject
When the lunch bell rang he started to get his things together before Kamui spoke.
"Are you sure?"
The rest of the class seemed just as shocked as no one had even looked at him without turning back and whispering to another student. Hadn't Kamui heard the rumors about him?
no subject
"Yes? If... if it's really alright with you." He gathered his books, turning one over in his hands. "I mean, it's okay if you don't... I'm not really good with people or anything."
no subject
"No, it's fine."
no subject
Kamui finished gathering his things quietly, nodding for Yuki to follow. The walk wasn't far to his special tree -Kotori's tree- Kamui settling to the grass under it with exceptional care.
no subject
"It's really pretty here."
no subject
And as if answering his concern, a little bird landed on Yuki's shoulder, twittering with happy curiosity. "Oh. The birds are really friendly, too. I hope you don't mind?"
no subject
"Are the birds here wild? I've never had one be this trusting, not even at the orphanage."
no subject
Which he was not going to get into, even though he apparently failed to see the problem going into Yuki's business. "Orphanage?"
no subject
"I grew up at an orphanage. My best friend Kanata and I both did and we helped with the younger children there. It's a little weird being away from there. It was my home."
no subject
Home. Not really something Kamui had a concept of. Even now, with the Seals, it wasn't... home. Not really. CLAMP Campus was only a place to stay in order for him to remain cared for until his purpose was completed.
"Why did you come here?"
no subject
He was quite for a bit as the bird eventually flew over to Kamui's shoulder.
"I miss them and Kanata, but I was recently adopted, well found by my older brother. It's been really weird lately...everything changed."
He couldn't exactly go into the whole the world could end and he's its only hope along with the Zweilts who were charged with protecting him.
no subject
"Being found..." He tilted his head, obviously musing on that. Oh, he was now a orphan too -as far as he knew, anyway- and had been found by the Seals. It was... "That... can be nice, though." Extremely strange, but sometimes also nice.
Kamui shifted, the little bird shifting with him. "Ah, I used to make flower circlets when I was a kid. I was pretty good at them." And then he flushed, not sure why he admitted that.
no subject
"They have definitely taken me in like family and everyone is really nice. I just have to get used to everything."
no subject
"I..." he suddenly spoke up and shifted nervously, poking at a meatball. Not entirely sure how to phrase that he can relate, or if he should even tell Yuki that much, but... "I've only been here a couple of months, and I've kind of been adopted too, I guess. In a way. So... I know how weird it can be getting used to stuff."
no subject
"How have you done it? I mean gotten used to it?"
no subject
"Just... I grew up moving around all the time with my mother, so for the most part, I didn't make friends or anything." Except those precious few years with Kotori and Fuuma. "Suddenly being around lots of people is a bit... overwhelming. At times."
no subject
He even got hate letters threatening his life in the mail.
no subject
It occurred to him only a moment after that slip that maybe he shouldn't have been so blunt about it. Maybe that was a tender subject. But... he really, really wanted to know...
"S-Sorry. I... I'm not really... uh. I can sense stuff like that. I just can't tell what kind of power you have, and... I mean..."
no subject
"How...."
